A legal amendment was introduced to update the minimum capital amounts for joint stock companies and limited liability companies, that are among the most commonly established types of companies in Turkey.
The Presidential Decree No 7887 on the increase of the minimum capital amount for joint stock companies and limited liability companies Presidential Decree was published in the Official Gazette No. 32380 dated 25.11.2023 and stipulates as follows:
- The minimum authorized capital amount for a Joint Stock Company has been increased from 50,000.00 Turkish Liras to 250,000.00 Turkish Liras,
- The minimum initial capital amount for a non-publicly traded Joint Stock Company that has adopted the registered capital system has been increased from 100,000.00 Turkish Liras to 500,000.00 Turkish Liras,
- The minimum authorized capital amount envisaged for a Limited Liability Company has been increased from 10,000.00 Turkish Liras to 50,000.00 Turkish Liras.
This decision will enter into force on the date of its publication, effective as of 01.10.2024.
